WHAT WE’RE ABOUT
The Graphic & Web Design (GWD) program provides students with comprehensive training in both creative and technical aspects of design. Over three years, students develop expertise in graphic design, web interface design, publication production, branding, photography, social media marketing, video editing, and animation. They learn to bring ideas to life using Adobe software, HTML, CSS, and some PHP and JavaScript, focusing on the aesthetic and functional design of websites.
The program bridges art and computer science, emphasizing front-end design rather than back-end development. In the final semester, students gain real-world experience through a three-week fieldwork placement, preparing them for careers in the corporate design world, freelance work, or further university studies.

What kind of computer do I need?
You’ll need a computer that runs Adobe Creative Cloud quickly and smoothly —
Mac or PC, whichever you prefer.
Recommended specs by the department:
- 16GB+ RAM
- Powerful video card (not just for gaming)
- 500GB+ storage (external drives are fine)
- 15”+ screen for workspace
Most students choose a laptop for portability.
The department recommends a MacBook Pro because
it’s reliable, long-lasting, and works well for both design
and web testing.
*Bottom line: Buy the best computer you can afford*
